Orlando Outdoor Lighting is thrilled to have been chosen to bring the nearly 20-year-old outdoor lighting system at the entrance of Gatorland back to life for the new year, 2026. This beloved, family-owned attraction has welcomed visitors since 1949, and it was an honor to restore the sparkle to a place that has been part of our own family’s story for three generations.
The original lighting system, while faithful, had grown tired. Fixtures were dimmed by decades of Florida sun, wiring had aged, and the welcoming glow that greeted visitors each evening had faded. We approached this project not simply as a lighting upgrade, but as an opportunity to reimagine architectural and landscape lighting in a way that honored the park’s history while providing modern performance, reliability, and efficiency.
You see, places like Gatorland are not merely destinations, they are chapters in people’s lives. My own childhood adventures began here in the 1970s and 1980s, exploring the park and even catching venomous snakes for the Serpentarium as a teenager. In the 2000s, I had the joy of bringing my own children to experience the same wonder. And now, in 2026, as a father-and-son team running Orlando Outdoor Lighting, it is a privilege to illuminate the entrance of a place that has been intertwined with our family for decades.
To bring the entrance back to life, we installed state-of-the-art integrated LED fixtures, carefully designed to enhance the architectural features of the park while highlighting the landscape elements that make Gatorland’s entrance so iconic. This modern LED system improves visibility, safety, and energy efficiency while preserving the warm, welcoming character that visitors have come to expect.
At Orlando Outdoor Lighting, we understand the unique magic that family-owned landmarks bring to a community. We specialize in architectural and landscape lighting throughout Central Florida, and projects like this remind us why we love what we do: to help illuminate places that carry history, memories, and joy.
Some places don’t just need new lighting, they deserve it.
